Things to do by car

If you don't fancy walking, perhaps a day out in the car might be more your taste, the choice of destinations within an hour's drive is limited only by your imagination, below are just a few options to consider:

Skipton - Visit Skipton's Medieval Castle, and visit the market held on Skipton's High Street.

The Lake District - Sailing on Windermere, a climb up Scafell peak, and enjoy some world famous Kendal Mint Cake, all in one day!!

James Herriot Country - All Creatures Great and Small, in Wensleydale, along with a sample of the World Famous Cheese that Wallace & Gromit enjoy - "Ooh Gromit, it's real Wensleydale, from the Wensleydale Creamery, Hawes.

Emmerdale Farm - This popular TV. programme began its life in upper Wharfedale, before moving only a few miles down stream.

Bronte Country - Home of the Literary Sisters, and the Worth Valley Railway, the setting for the Railway Children

York - With its Shambles, Museums, and the world famous York Minster

The Settle to Carlisle Railway - 72 Miles of the most memorable railway journey in Great Britain

If none of those suggestions tickle your exploring taste buds we can give you advice on a trip, or even organise a guided day excursion for you.

Why not try a day out on horseback at the Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre, it is only 100 yards walk down the road.

If you are interested in going out and sampling some of the local brew, we have 2 lovely old pubs, again, only a minutes walk away, both provide a superb local favre, and lots of good real Yorkshire ales, with only a short walk home afterwards.

If the country charm of our local pubs doesn't interest you, how about you try a cycling tour of the Dales, mountain bikers are coming to Malham in their hundreds, and bikes can be hired very reasonably.

But if we still haven't managed to tickle you taste buds, then why dont you try one of our many local Golf Courses. We can help you find a game on a course to suit you, with Ilkley, Skipton and Clitheroe all within a 1/2 hour drive away, and Settle is even closer!

If you are thinking of having a more romantic or special occasion, why not take a champagne Balloon flight over the Dales.
